About the SPPCI
The Society for the Preservation of Philippine Culture, Inc. (SPPCI) was originally incorporated in 1986 as the Museo ng Malacañang Foundation at the request of then President Corazon C. Aquino. Its mission was the transformation of Malacañang Palace from being not only the official residence of Philippine Presidents and venue for Cabinet meetings and State ceremonies, but also a vibrant historical museum accessible to all. From 1986-1992, the Palace was the setting for a working President as well as a popular attraction for visitors to view the changing exhibits and to take the tour which the Foundation developed and conducted through its corps of trained docents.
In 2002, SPPCI published the book “Palacio de Malacanang – 200 Years of a Ruling House” which tells the fascinating story of Malacañang Palace. The book attempts to awaken national pride in Philippine historical monuments and re-instill respect for the traditions of the Philippine presidency.
SPPCI supports projects which aim to preserve Filipino culture and heritage.
